Plastification project for swimming pool in Tienen (Belgium)
At the Tienen swimming pool, the handrails were replaced in 2022.
The first pictures show how the chlorinated pool environment has corroded the old polyester powder coating, and corrosion is occurring on an older perfoplate.
The concept with the perfo plates was then changed by railings with round tubes, and a thermoplastic > 300 µm thick Abcite coating, as you see in the second photo. This coating is more resistant than stainless steel to the chlorinated vapors in a swimming pool environment.
